Standard Carbon announced today it recently completed a private $400,000 USD investment round, allowing the company to launch its market-leading climate accounting software later this year. The round was led by Demos, the Minneapolis-based venture capital and private equity company.
Part of this round of funding came from Standard Carbon winning the Startup TNT competition, where it was awarded $100,000 USD to use to go to market with its innovative carbon accounting software for accountants and bookkeepers. It also received some funds through Canada’s National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP).
Standard Carbon is an accredited greenhouse gas (GHG) verifier in Canada and has been one of the leaders in this space.

We’re uniquely positioned to help global finance professionals have transparent and accurate data on their companies’ carbon footprints,” said Stuart. “The demand for reliable carbon data is growing quickly as companies realize the financial benefits of having easy access to verifiable figures.”
The company has already successfully launched a beta version of its SCOP3 climate accounting software and expects to have a full product launch later in 2023. Standard Carbon is recognized internationally as the first GHG verifier in Canada accredited to ISO 14065:2020.
Standard Carbon counts multiple Fortune 500 companies as clients of its accredited validation and verification services.
